Second generation biofuels
The interactive map below shows the present state of second generation biofuel production units (incl. bioethanol from lignocellulosic biomass and biosynfuels or BtL) worldwide. For each referenced installation, the following elements are given: operator, production capacity, address, type of plant (pilot, demo, commercial), type of biofuel, type of technology (biochemical or biothermal), type of feedstock(s) and status (in operation, in project, etc.).
This map is based mainly on the work by Task 39 of the International Energy Agency (IEA Bioenergy) and completed by the Biofuels Platform from various sources. The map will be updated on a regular basis.
