Galp veut produire des biocarburants issus de microalgues

Le groupe portugais Galp Energia va s'associer avec l'Institut national d'ingénierie, de technologie et d'information (Ineti) et la société Algafuel pour développer des biocarburants fabriqués à partir de microalgues. Le projet dans lequel Galp Energia consacrera "entre 1 et 2 millions d'euros", passera par 4 grandes phases, a expliqué lors d'une conférence de presse Manuel Ferreira de Oliveira, président du groupe pétrolier portugais. Durant la première phase, AlgaFuel va tester les microalgues en laboratoire pour savoir quelles sont celles qui sont les plus intéressantes. La phase suivante correspondra à la mise en place du projet pilote. Elle devra être terminée en 2009.
