Dubai Police to fuel its buses with biodiesel

The Dubai Police announced in a statement released on Wendesday the launch of an environmentally friendly initiative to fuel its buses with biodiesel produced from used cooking oil. Marking the start of the first phase of the project, of Commander General of Dubai Police Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim inspected the first bus which is compatible to use 5 per cent biodiesel. The used cooking oil required for producing biodiesel will be collected from within the organisations of the Dubai Police, and best international standards will be observed for the recycling and the production. The biodiesel thus produced has environmental and economic benefits and will be used to fuel buses and heavy vehicles. The initiative was announced as part of world environment day celebrations, under the guidance of the police chief.
