Neste Oil showcasing NExBTL renewable aviation fuel

Source : greencarcongress.com

Neste Oil will take part in the Paris Air Show this June to showcase its NExBTL renewable aviation fuel. The fuel meets the stringent quality standards demanded for aviation use and is compatible with all existing aircraft engines. In addition, said Neste, it can also be produced in industrial volumes. In June ASTM voted to approve renewable aviation fuels produced by hydrotreating bio-based feedstocks for use in air traffic. Neste Oil's NExBTL renewable aviation fuel, based on hydrotreating vegetable and waste oils, is one such fuel. Commercial flights with the fuel are due to start in the coming months when the ASTM's specification process for aviation biofuels is completed.
