Source : biofuelsdigest.com
In Colorado, Solix BioSystems reports their first sale and delivery of its Lumian AGS4000 high productivity, fully integrated algae cultivation system to New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. The Lumian AGS4000 is located at NMSU's Fabian Garcia Science Center and will be used to optimize algae growth parameters as well as to produce biomass for downstream testing. Peter Lammers, Technical Director of the Algae Bioenergy Program at NMSU, stated: "We were able to purchase the system as part of a grant from the US Air Force focused on the use of algae to produce jet fuel." Solix commercialized the 4'000 liter Lumian AGS4000 based on the market need for a high productivity, reliable algae cultivation system that enables customers to undertake R&D development of algae cultivation outdoors as well as provide a source of inoculum for larger scale systems.
