Source : biofuelsdigest.com

"According to the EPA", the NBB said, "biodiesel has the following emissions properties compared with petroleum diesel: carbon monoxide, on average 48% lower; particulate matter, 47% lower; hydrocarbons, on average 67% lower; sulfur, essentially eliminated; nitrogen oxides, increase on average by 10%. However, biodiesel's lack of sulfur allows the use of NOx control technologies that cannot be used with conventional diesel."
