Zambia: Investor sets up biofuel plant

Black Power Investment has set up a refinery plant which produces 3'000 litres of biofuel a day. Company director Roger Sheriff said in an interview at the weekend that the company opted to build its own refinery plant because it was cost-effective. Mr Sheriff said the firm spent US$250'000 to acquire equipment which produces 3'000 litres of fuel a day. He said the challenge most players had was the cost of importing and the resources needed for one to get involved in the production of biofuels in the country.
