Shell s'allie à Cosan dans l'éthanol au Brésil

Le groupe pétrolier anglo-néerlandais Shell et le géant brésilien du sucre Cosan ont annoncé la création au Brésil d'une nouvelle entreprise de production d'éthanol d'une valeur estimée à 12 Mrd$. Cette nouvelle entreprise, appelée Raizen, devrait employer près de 40'000 personnes et produire plus de 2,2 Mrdl d'éthanol par an à partir de canne à sucre qui seront distribués sur les marchés brésilien et international, a indiqué Cosan. Le processus d'intégration des deux entreprises est en cours et le lancement officiel de la nouvelle entreprise devrait avoir lieu au cours de premier trimestre 2011.
